good evening, thank you for joining us. two divers died this past weekend at a well-known woman -- well-known cave diving location. the remote is very remote -- the remote location is very beautiful but also very dangerous. >> reporter: take a look at this video of divers explained the deaths sinkhole and you can see why people want to travel. experience divers caution others, this is a place for people with technical special certifications. >> depending on what depth they were using, timers may have been used and that takes a great deal of time and training to understand that correctly. >> reporter: the hernando county sheriff's office tells us three divers enter the eagles nest cave on saturday but only one survived. >> they had predetermined a place under the water to meet after about an hour.

experienced diver went to the predetermined location, and the two experienced divers did not show up. >> the hernando county sheriff's office said it will be up to the state to decide if the sink is closed again. jeff patterson, news channel 8. at this very moment, eagle 8 hd is over the scene of suspicious items. this is near hudson cemetery in pasco county. here's a live picture. deputies shutdown a small se authorities just told us the items appear to not be dangerous. we are going to keep an eye on that for you. cruise quickly filled in a depression that formed at a holiday mobile home park. over the past few days, a 15 foot wide depression opened up on tort street and the holiday travel park. just 2 years ago, a large sinkhole swallowed a car a few feet away from the location. earlier today cruise filled in

for alarm. some of the locals are still very concerned about the future. >> kind of scary, really. >> especially when they stay right here in that one place. it is just suspicious. >> the repairs were handled by the property owner's insurance company. we now have an idea of just how big the mosaic sinkhole is and what it's going to take to fix it. the hole opened in august swallowing more than 200 million gallons of radioactive water into the state's aquifer. melissa marino gives us the result of a single study and a look at what's next. >> reporter: this is eagle 8 hd video as mosaic cruises dropped specialized lidar equipment into the massive sinkhole. >> we know there is some potentially unstable ground, so what we did is we took a cable and we strung it out across the hole attached to bulldozer type machines. >> reporter: we are told the sinkhole is 220 feet deep from

measuring 152 feet across. as for the overall depth, the company is still trying to figure that out. only then can they start fixing it. >> we will know where to put the concrete type material. >> reporter: the company plans to start pouring concrete into the sinkhole in december with the goal of having it completely plugged by next may or june. in polk county, melissa marino, news channel 8. a truck driver had a very rough day on the job in sarasota. the view from eagle 8 hd gives as part of an idea of the box truck you see went over the edge of coon key bridge, right along the ringling causeway. >> sarasota police provided some video and photos from the effort to get the truck out of the water. they were eventually successful and all lanes of traffic are now open. the driver we know is a 63-year- old man that is okay but is going to be cited for careless driving. a pasco county county man thought he would have a good place to hide from deputies but not good enough. body cam video released by the pasco county sheriff's office

and how quickly. >> the task force will meet bimonthly. and action plan should be in place within the next 90 days. the man who fired a gun at george zimmerman during a road rage incident last year is heading to prison for a long time. today, a judge sentenced matthew apperson to 20 years in prison for attempted second- degree murder. zimmerman testified in may 2015 that he followed him, flas horn. then he says he pulls up beside him and shot at him. once again, amy schumer has offended people in tampa bay during a show last night in tampa. some people booed, even walked out of the theater, when she delved into some trump bashing. in the youtube video uploaded by username, mama pain, you can see schumer here. she pulled a man on stage and grilled him about his supportive donald trump. >> so tell me why trump has your vote. >> because i can't trust hillary.

supplies of a life-saving drug are running short making life difficult for a sarasota girl suffering from leukemia. 8 on your shows us what is behind this serious situation. >> reporter: every few days, ava and minnie mouse come here for chemotherapy. but after she and her mom alert about the drug shortage -- learned about the drug shortage, she was about to cross the borders. after calling more than 50 place -- places, the manufacturer, and the fda, they got nowhere.

on wall street today, the dow dropped nearly 50 dewpoints. the s&p was down 6 and the nasdaq dropped 14 points. the american dollar remains strong right now, today it had a seven month high compared to several other worldwide currencies. strong retail sales in the u.s. in september helped bolster the stre pepsi drinkers, changes coming to your favorite beverage over the next 9 years. pepsico is pledging to cut calories and sugar in all of the strings. by the year 2025, two thirds of their drinks will have 100 calories or less in a 12 ounce serving. pepsico also plans to reduce saturated fat and sodium levels

[ laughter ] i hope something can get done about it. >> reporter: women's diagnostic center in brandon shutdown last fall. owner john parker admits he has

facility somewhere in pinellas county. he left a facebook message for women to email him and sometimes he agrees to hand over records, in unprofessional places, like in parking lots at hard rock casino and starbucks. i tagged along with one woman. >> how many records do you have left? how many women's records are you holding? >> he would not answer but insisted he could not rd do this the right way. >> it's completely unprofessional and inappropriate, it's risky. >> reporter: j -- jake is a professor at the university of south florida, not only a medical doctor but also an attorney and calls the recordkeeping methods illegal. >> reporter: the person who owns the clinic is not a physician, driving around with records in his vehicle is outrageous.

the state to step in. >> the department of health and board of medicine, it is time for them to step another they have been alerted and take control of the records and make sure that all of the women who have their names in the records are protected. >> reporter: that is all he wants. >> mammograms are important, and they have to be compared and if we can't get them, you know, we could get misdiagnosed or something. officials, they could step in and appoint a third-party company to become the custodian of these records. that's why it is so important that any woman affected by this file a complaint. i have listed all of the information you need to do that on my facebook page. shannon behnken, 8 on your side.

clouds around. we will clear up when you wake up in the morning, close to 70 degrees. mostly clear skies through the day with afternoon house and a 10% rain chance developing. there is a small rain chance similar to what we have been dealing with, the same is true wednesday morning, try to start today, but afternoon hours, 10% chance of rain and there is the cold front we are tracking. by wednesday, still a ways away but by friday it will be at our doorstep and will bring us a very nice weekend, humidity plts feeling much like fall. at this point from it feels eczema beach weather and unfortunately along many beaches, we are dealing with red tide. medium to high concentrations in manatee and sarasota county, low concentrations in pinellas county. today some hotspots were coquina beach and siesta key. in the tropics, hurricane nicole still going strong, still a hurricane but the area we are watching for development is near the bahamas, 60% chance

after an obscene amount was spent building this controversial courthouse, the state learned the contractor had overspent on framed photos that were never used. when the state refused to pay, bob buesing sued... demanding taxpayers foot the bill, including his own legal fees. now running for senate, buesing wants us to trust him with state spending.
